WHAT WE DO

STUDIO ARTISTS

Art studio and office spaces are available for rent along with gallery, classroom, and meeting space for clients. Artists/tenants enjoy the creative and historic environment St. Joseph Center offers. Contact us for more details.

COMMUNITY GARDEN

SJCA enjoys a Fit2Live funded fenced community garden with 20 beds - 150 sq. ft. each - used by local community members for growing fresh organic vegetables, herbs and flowers. Resources to support this program include garden tools, soil amendment resources, compost bins and a greenhouse to grow plants from seed. SJCA also boasts a Hunger Relief Garden on the east side of the building where crops are grown for donation. The gardens at St. Joseph produce food for individual use, the farm stand, sharing with the local community, and food pantries.

CHARITABLE FOOD DISTRIBUTION

Feeding those who are in need is a long-standing tradition at St. Joseph's. The Orphanage was created as a self-sustaining farm and the Benedictine Sisters helped provide food not only for the children in their care, but to the community as well. For decades this practice has continued on a smaller scale. With the addition of the Hunger Relief Garden, many more people can be served through the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance and Arkansas Foodbank.

FARM STAND

OPEN MAY - OCTOBER
St. Joseph Farm Stand is open on Saturdays 8am-12noon from early summer through late fall offering a wide variety of locally grown produce and products. The Farm Stand is entirely volunteer run and all proceeds go toward the preservation of this historic property.

GATHERINGS

St. Joseph Center has indoor and outdoor venues available to rent throughout the year. The historic building and grounds offer a unique setting as a backdrop to your event or gathering. Contact SJCA for more information about availability and fees.
